Should I choose hand drawn, cord drawn or motorised tracks?
Hand drawn, cord drawn and motorised curtain tracks each suit different windows. A hand drawn track is simple and flexible. A cord drawn track works from one fixed point and has mandatory safety rules for the cord. A motorised track suits hard to reach windows, heavy use and automation, and needs a motor and power.
Hand drawn tracks use fewer control components and can allow more flexible panel movement, depending on the system. Check the curtain is comfortable to reach and move through its full travel.
Cord drawn tracks operate from one fixed position. The installer plans the cord drop, the tensioning device, the fixing and access for maintenance, and cord safety requirements are mandatory, not optional.
Motorised tracks need a compatible motor, controller and power arrangement. Confirm curtain weight, track layout, wired or battery power, opening direction, service access and any automation interface with your retailer before you order.
This answer is general information. For your own windows, your retailer's advice and your order with them come first.
