How does the Christmas rush affect lead times?

The Christmas rush stretches curtain and blind lead times from the last week of October through January. Speedy Blinds sets a cut off each year for orders to be made before Christmas and gives the date to retailers. If you want curtains up before Christmas, ask your retailer early and order well before their cut off.

The slowdown happens every year and it's expected. Everyone wants their curtains up before Christmas, so far more orders arrive at once. By late November our manufacturing estimates have usually grown to around three weeks for curtains and around two for roller blinds. They are estimates, not promises.

Each year we set a cut off date for orders to be made before Christmas, and retailers get it in advance. If you want curtains up before Christmas, ask your retailer when their own cut off is and order well before it.

How the queue works

Jobs are made in the order they are accepted and paid for, not the order they were quoted in. That's the only way it stays fair when everyone is asking for the same fortnight.

Orders that come in after the cut off are made in January, after the factory reopens.

We close over Christmas and New Year. Exact closing and reopening dates go out to retailers in advance each year, so your retailer can tell you what is realistic for a January installation.

This answer is general information. For your own windows, your retailer's advice and your order with them come first.
