What is the difference between Wave Fold and S Fold?

Wave Fold and S Fold curtains both hang in a regular, alternating wave, and many retailers use the two names for the same look. At Speedy Blinds they are two headings: Wave Fold hangs on hooks and S Fold hangs on pendants, so the heading construction and the way each connects to the track are different.

Wave Fold at Speedy

Wave Fold uses hooks fitted into the curtain heading, which connect to compatible track runners. The construction can give the top of some fabrics more support, though a stiff fabric can also fight it and spring back.

S Fold at Speedy

S Fold uses pendants or studs in the heading that connect to compatible runners. It can look less bulky across the top, but hanging and removing the curtain works differently to a hook system.

Does one hang better than the other?

No. How the finished wave sits depends on the fabric's construction and finish, the heading, fullness, hem, runner spacing, how the track was installed, and whether the curtain was trained. Changing the heading or adding fullness won't rescue a fabric that isn't suited to it.

Names like Wave, S Wave and Ripple Fold mean different things to different suppliers. Ask your retailer which heading and which track they are quoting, so there's no doubt what you're getting.
