What is curtain pre training?

Curtain pre training is a factory step that sets a curtain into its intended folds before it is packed. At Speedy Blinds we do it under controlled conditions, so the folds of a Wave Fold, S Fold or eligible pleated curtain have a head start when it is hung. Not every fabric can take it.

It helps establish the presentation of Wave Fold, S Fold and eligible pleated curtains. It doesn't change what the fabric is: it won't remove natural variation, fix an unsuitable heading, or make up for a track that went in crooked.

The finished result still comes down to the fabric, heading, hem, fullness, drop, runner spacing, installation and the room it hangs in.

Not every fabric can take it

Pre training isn't available for anything that isn't 100% polyester, and it's also excluded for uneven thread sheers, voile, open weave, warp knit mesh, lace mesh, perforated fabrics, velvet, self lined blockout with an acrylic, silicone or TPU backing, and pencil pleat headings.

Even 100% polyester isn't automatically safe. Stability varies between fabrics and the risk only shows up at the final stage, once the work is done. Your retailer can check a specific fabric with us rather than assuming the fibre content settles it.

Pre training adds three business days to the standard estimate. Width, hook count and drop limits apply, so your retailer needs to confirm that your curtain and fabric are eligible before it is ordered.

This answer is general information. For your own windows, your retailer's advice and your order with them come first.
