Wholesale curtain tracks, made to order for retailers
Speedy Blinds is a trade only curtain track manufacturer in Thomastown, Melbourne. We make straight, bent and motorised curtain tracks to order for window furnishing retailers and installers, and we never sell to the retailer's customer.
The tracks we make
Hand drawn, cord drawn and motorised systems, including straight, bent, recessed and designer profiles. Every track is made to order at our factory in Thomastown.
- Hand drawn tracks, the simplest of the three, with fewer control parts.
- Cord drawn tracks, which work from one fixed point. Cord safety rules are mandatory for these, not optional.
- Motorised tracks, for hard to reach windows, heavy use and automation. They need a compatible motor, controller and power arrangement.
- Bent tracks, as an angle bend or a continuous bend. A bent track gives the runners (gliders) one continuous path around a corner, into a wall, around a column or through a bay window, so the curtain can travel the whole way.
- Recessed tracks, set up into the ceiling so only the curtain shows. That has to be planned before the ceiling is finished.
On a Wave Fold or S Fold track the runners, also called gliders, are held at a set spacing, which is why the track and the curtain for those headings are ordered to match. The FAQ has more on runners and gliders and on choosing between hand drawn, cord drawn and motorised tracks.
Made in Melbourne means the manufacturing we do. Fabrics, motors, hardware and components come from suppliers and have their own countries of origin.
Before you order a track
When a track is ordered with its curtain, we take 5mm off the track width so it fits an opening measured to the millimetre: on a 3,000mm order the track is made at 2,995mm.
For a motorised track, have the curtain weight, the track layout, wired or battery power, the opening direction, service access and any automation interface settled before you order.
Not sure what a track order needs? Call us on 0436 666 687 before you quote it. It's always faster than fixing it afterwards.
Ordering a bent track
A bent track is made from the actual dimensions of the window, never from a generic bay window angle. You or your installer measure it, and production confirms the dimensions for the job.
Simple bends can be specified with dimensions and angles. Irregular walls and long continuous curves need our template process. Whatever you send has to identify the room side, the window side, where the track starts and finishes, the reference line, the bends, any joins, and the opening and stack.
Call us before you quote a bent track. The FAQ explains how bent curtain tracks work.
Lengths and joins
Without a join, a straight track or an angle bend track can be made up to 5,800mm, and a continuous bend track up to 4,800mm.
One piece usually gives the smoothest runner path, but a join can be unavoidable for length, transport, lift access or installation. Where one is needed, it goes on a straight section if the track system allows.
A track we can make in one piece may still need a join to reach the room, so for a long track measure the lifts, stairs, corridors, doorways and final turns. The FAQ covers how to plan a curtain track.
Made to your order, fitted by your installer
Our Made to Spec Guarantee: what we make will match your accepted order and our written tolerances. It covers how the track was made, not the measure or the installation. The FAQ explains what the Made to Spec Guarantee covers.
We don't measure or install. Fitting the track is the installer's work, and the brackets, fixings and structure have to suit the actual track and the actual curtain load.
A cord drawn track installed in a home has to meet Australia's cord safety rules, and fitting it to meet them is the installer's job too.
Our advice is about the product, not your site. The wall, the ceiling, the fixings and the load stay the installer's call.
Delivery and collection
In Melbourne metro we deliver tracks on our own van. Outside Melbourne metro we send curtains only, boxed and by courier, so tracks outside Melbourne metro are factory collection or your own carrier. Where we deliver has the detail.
Retailers are welcome to collect from the factory at 33 Latitude Blvd, Thomastown VIC 3074 in business hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
How to order
There's no application, no minimum and no contract to sign. Orders go through the Order app, not by email. No login yet? Call 0436 666 687 and we'll set you up.
One job can carry the curtains, the track they hang on and the roller blinds for the rest of the house. Every job is looked at before it becomes a production instruction, and each part of the job shows its own stage in the Order app.
Manufacturing times has the estimate for each product. It's an estimate for making the job, not a delivery date: delivery or collection comes after.
Ordering the curtains with the track? Wholesale curtains covers how supply works, Fabric Stock shows the fabrics we hold, and the Curtain Calculator works out the number of hooks from the track width and the runner spacing. Stock can move before a job is cut, so call us if a roll is low. For the windows that take a blind, see wholesale roller blinds.
Comparing suppliers
Delivering certainty takes the nine reasons retailers change workrooms one at a time, from price and turnaround to remakes, and says what you can be certain of here. Buying curtain tracks for your own home? We only make for retailers, so get in touch and we'll point you to one.
