Wholesale roller blinds, made to order for retailers

Speedy Blinds is a trade only roller blind manufacturer in Thomastown, Melbourne. We make chain operated and motorised roller blinds to order for window furnishing retailers and installers, and we never sell to the retailer's customer.

The roller blinds we make

Manual and motorised roller blinds, each made to order at our factory in Thomastown.

  • Chain operated blinds. A loop of chain turns a control at one end of the tube, and there is nothing to charge.
  • Motorised blinds, with motors from Rollease Acmeda, Somfy, TBS and Louvolite. The motor sits inside the tube, and is either wired or runs on a rechargeable battery.

The FAQ compares blockout, light filtering and sunscreen fabrics. Group Search has the pricing group of each roller blind fabric collection we work with, and Fabric Stock lists the roller blind fabrics we hold at the factory. Both are open with no login. Stock can move before a job is cut, so call us if a roll is low.

Made in Melbourne means the manufacturing we do. Fabrics, motors, hardware and components come from suppliers and have their own countries of origin.

Motors and setup guides

The motor programming guides on this site cover 8 roller blind motor models, written step by step with videos alongside: pairing, limits, reverse roll direction, a favourite position and a factory reset.

Start from the exact model on the motor label or the job paperwork. Motors from the same brand use different remotes, different power and different setup sequences. If a setup won't complete, call or WhatsApp us on 0436 666 687 with the motor model.

Before you order

A blind fitted inside the frame and a blind fitted outside it are measured differently. Mixing them up gives a blind that does not fit, so the order has to say which it is. The FAQ covers fitting inside or outside the frame and front roll or back roll.

The fabric is narrower than the brackets, so light shows down both sides, and on a blockout blind that strip is noticeable.

Not sure how to give a size, or what an order needs? Call us on 0436 666 687 before you quote it. It's always faster than fixing it afterwards.

Our Made to Spec Guarantee: what we make will match your accepted order and our written tolerances. It covers how the blind was made, not the measure or the installation. The FAQ explains what the Made to Spec Guarantee covers.

What stays with the installer

We don't measure or install. The blind is made to the order, and fitting it is the installer's work.

  • Roller blinds aren't balanced at the factory. Levelling and balancing on site is the installer's job, and tracking or telescoping caused by an out of level installation is an installation issue, not a manufacturing one.
  • A motor is programmed with limits so the blind stops in the right place. The motor programming guides are written for installers. Fixed electrical work is for a licensed electrician.
  • A chain is a loop, so a chain operated blind installed in a home has to meet Australia's cord safety rules. Fitting it to meet them is the installer's job too.

What's normal on a roller blind

Both are normal characteristics of roller blinds, not manufacturing faults. If the look matters on a very wide window, two narrower blinds side by side may suit it better than one wide one.

Delivery and collection

In Melbourne metro we deliver roller blinds on our own van. Outside Melbourne metro we send curtains only, boxed and by courier, so roller blinds outside Melbourne metro are factory collection or your own carrier. Where we deliver has the detail.

Retailers are welcome to collect from the factory at 33 Latitude Blvd, Thomastown VIC 3074 in business hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

How to order

There's no application, no minimum and no contract to sign. Orders go through the Order app, not by email. No login yet? Call 0436 666 687 and we'll set you up.

One job can carry curtains, curtain tracks and roller blinds. Every job is looked at before it becomes a production instruction, and each part of the job shows its own stage in the Order app. Wholesale curtains covers how supply works.

Manufacturing times has the estimate for each product. It's an estimate for making the job, not a delivery date: delivery or collection comes after.

Comparing suppliers

Delivering certainty takes the nine reasons retailers change workrooms one at a time, from price and turnaround to remakes, and says what you can be certain of here. Buying roller blinds for your own home? We only make for retailers, so get in touch and we'll point you to one.
